The body of 29-year-old Samuel Kern was found on Saturday near Pleasant Mountain in Denmark.
DENMARK, Maine– The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife reports the body of a missing Portland guy has actually been found near Pleasant Mountain in
Denmark. Around 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, the body of 29-year-old Samuel Kern was found by a K-9 team from the Maine Browse and Rescue Pets. His body was found roughly 2/3 of a mile from where his lorry lay at the Fire Warden’s trailhead on
Pleasant Mountain. According to the MDIFW, Kern had told family he had prepared to do some camping and left for his journey on Friday, September 18. After having no contact with Kern for several days, his family reported him missing on Wednesday, September 23. His lorry was found that afternoon and search efforts began that evening by friends and family. The search was boosted and handled by the Maine Warden Service later Wednesday evening and continued up until the body was located.
Kern’s death is ruled out suspicious. An evaluation of the body will take place by the Workplace of Chief Medical Inspector.
The Maine Warden Service would like to thank the Denmark and Bridgton Fire Departments, Bridgton Authorities Department, the many volunteers, and teams with the Maine Association for Browse and Rescue and the Maine Search and Rescue Canines in addition to other neighborhood volunteers for their efforts and help in this three-day search.
