More COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Maine are starting to provide walk-in vaccinations.Northern Light Health revealed that its center at the Portland Exposition will start providing walk-in vaccinations on Wednesday.The center is open Tuesday through Friday weekly from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The variety of vaccines available on a walk-in basis depends on weekly vaccine deliveries, authorities said.Northern Light stated people can still arrange consultations ahead of time through its site or call 207-204-8551. This comes after MaineHealth announced that its clinic in Farmington is offering walk-ins from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. every day through Friday.Last week, the state’s mobile vaccination unit, run in partnership with the Federal Emergency Situation Management Company, began offering vaccinations without an appointment.FEMA officials said they began permitting walk-ins to increase accessibility and make the process as simple as possible for Mainers.The mobile unit is once again using the Johnson & & Johnson vaccine after the time out on the use of the vaccine was lifted last week.The mobile system is providing vaccines at Biddeford High School through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drop-in visits will only be offered up until 3:30 p.m. each day.The mobile unit will move to the Fryeburg Fairgrounds from April 30 through May 3.
