Top Maine business group honors the late Woodrow Cross – Bangor Daily News

The Maine State Chamber of Commerce has actually honored the late creator of Cross Insurance.

There was a homage to the life and tradition of the late Woodrow Cross during a gathering of business neighborhood Thursday night. Cross died in July at 103.

“His can-do philosophy integrated with the resolve that is true to Maine and ultimate to New England has made him a location in Maine’s history. He exemplified what it means to be a real leader, not just in an organization neighborhood, however in the community at large,” stated Larry Wold, chair of the chamber’s board.

The 2020 Dirigo Award was given up memory of Cross to his son, Royce.

The Cross name is a familiar one in Maine. The company sponsors the Cross Insurance coverage Center in Bangor and Cross Insurance Coverage Arena in Portland.
